When to use the Fast Floor System

When you should use it:

You should consider using the Fast Floor System in situations where several of the following apply:

  • Time is of the essence: When you need a floor system that can be completed faster than more traditional multi-step systems, this fast-turnaround product is designed for that.
  • Desire for a seamless aesthetic: If you want a smooth, continuous surface (as opposed to tile joints, plank seams, etc.), a microcement finish like this can deliver that.
  • Good existing substrate: Because the system assumes you’re working on a suitable substrate (screed, liquid screed, concrete) that is stable, you’ll need the substrate to be in good condition (flat enough, moisture controlled, structurally sound) before applying.
  • Underfloor heating or special features: If you have under-floor heating, the Fast Floor system supports it, which is a plus.
  • Residential or light commercial use: The documentation mentions use in both residential and commercial environments.
  • When you want a premium finish but still relatively rapid installation: Compared to very slow multi-coat resin or screed systems, this strikes a balance.

When you might not use it:

There are scenarios where this system may not be the best choice:

  • Very heavy industrial traffic: If you have extremely heavy loads, forklifts, dramatic point loads, chemical exposure etc., you might need a more robust system.
  • Poor substrate conditions: If the existing screed or concrete is severely cracked, unstable, or has large movement/deflection issues, then you’d likely need more substrate repair or a different system before applying microcement.
