What Is the Process?

  1. Prep the surface make sure to shot blast or grind the concrete prior to priming
  2. Prime the surface with the designated fast-dry primer
  3. Apply Forprime HB coat 1 to give the surface a good base and hide imperfections. Broadcast sand
  4. Apply MicroQuartz coat 1 make sure to trowel evenly and in wave like patterns
  5. Apply MicroQuartz coat 2 repeat the wave patters and work the wet edge.
  6. Seal using 2-Part Forcrete Forshield Sealer for durability and waterproofing

When to use the Standard Floor System

When you should use it:

You should consider using the Standard Floor System in scenarios such as:

  • The substrate is stable, well-prepared and structural movement/cracking is minimal. Because no mesh reinforcement is built in, you need good substrate conditions.
  • You want a balance of durability + aesthetic finish + reasonably fast installation (but you don’t need the absolute fastest turnaround or the highest reinforcement).
  • Residential or light-to-medium commercial use, with traffic/loading conditions within typical bounds.
  • Underfloor heating is present, and you want a seamless micro-cement finish.
  • You want a sleek, modern appearance (seamless micro-cement) and the budget/time allow for 6-7 days of installation.

When you might not use it:

Situations where the Standard Floor System may be less appropriate:

  • If the substrate is unstable, has large cracks, deflection or movement risk — then you probably need the more robust “Belt & Braces Floor” version with mesh reinforcement.
  • If you have very heavy traffic, heavy point loads, industrial use, or extreme demands — then this standard system might not suffice.
